National Careers Week: Career Pathways Virtual Programme

 

Next week marks National Careers Week (1st – 4th March) and as a result we are delighted to announce a programme of virtual events which will enable students from years 10 – 13 to discover and explore details of many different career pathways. In conjunction with the University of Cardiff and Cardiff Met University each day will offer a series of activities which you can register for through the links below.

Wednesday 3rd March

Careers in Tech: More than a Back-Up! – Gareth Jones

A discursive session regarding the career opportunities in the Tech industry, a perfect session for STEM students looking to the future.

Guest Lecture - Creative 'Green' Computing - Dr Fiona Carroll 
11am – 12pm
Green computing is the practice of reducing environmental footprints of technology and it includes: Green Use, Green Design, Green Manufacturing and Green Disposal. 
This talk is about Creative ‘Green’ computing and will show how we can design and use technology in creative ways to protect our environment and counter climate change.

Guest Lecture - Opportunities, Challenges and Strategies for Integrating Cyber Security and Safety in Engineering - Dr Chaminda Hewage 
1pm – 1:30pm 
Cyber security is increasingly affecting the safety of our essential services. This talk elaborates on risks associated with Cyber Physical Systems or IoT in our future society.
