North Somerset Council is one of the largest employers in the area and has a whole host of responsibilities. Working at the Council provides you with a unique opportunity to have a real, and positive impact on people’s lives.
One of our current and most pressing responsibilities is to implement change around our local impact on the environment. The council has been undergoing enormous changes in response to its declaration of a climate emergency in 2019. However, there is still more work to do and the Council cannot do it all alone. We need people of all ages to get involved.
If you’re interested in learning about our Climate Emergency response and how it impacts your local area, or simply want some understanding of what working at the council entails, come and join us for an insightful three days.
Your days will be structured and supervised in order to deliver a meaningful experience.
- Day 1: Introduction to the council and the team,
followed by personal skills development.
- Day 2: A ‘day in the life’, where you’ll have an
opportunity to work on a real-life task.
- Day 3: Presenting the outcome of your task to the
team with an opportunity to get useful feedback.
