Healthcare Professions Open Day

On Saturday 15th October at the UHBW Education Centre (click here) the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) Integrated Care Board partners and UWE will be delivering an Allied Health Professionals (AHP) Careers Day to mark the end of AHP Week. The event will showcase the 14 amazing professions (click here) that make up the AHP Careers; including Paramedics, Radiographers, Physiotherapists, Dieticians, Speech and Language Therapists etc. Partners are also working with local colleges, universities, and the Princes Trust to promote the apprenticeship and degree routes available to young people who would like to pursue a career in one of the AHP professions. Students attending this event will be able to explore the full AHP career pathway, from school to specialist.

Doors open at 10:30 and close at 4:30pm, during that time young people will be able to visit:
14 different stalls, take part in 14 different activities and speak to 14 different inspiring professionals.
Every hour, the University of the West of England will deliver a paramedic simulation demonstration, providing students with an engaging insight into the role of a paramedic in the delivery of care to Stroke Patients.

The recruitment teams from partner organisation will be on hand to discuss where to look for vacancies, apprenticeships, and volunteering opportunities.

Universities, colleges, and apprenticeship providers will also be in attendance to discuss the different educational routes young people can take in order to enter the AHP workforce.
