Banking and Investment

The Early Careers team at HSBC have created a series of bite-sized virtual events and material all with the aim of developing your soft skills. This is designed to give confidence on employment prospects, myth bust common recruitment misconceptions and target key employability skills to give you an advantage when looking for a career. 

11th March – How to stand out?   

A session dedicated to applications. This will include a breakdown of CVs in general and also aim to demystify online applications. It will also include application hints & tips from an employer’s perspective to give you an insight into what is looked for.

Law

If you are thinking about a career in Law after school the Co-op are running a Virtual Insight Event on Wednesday 10th February at 6pm. Find out how to access a career in law via an alternative route to University with starting salaries at £18,500.

Songwriting & Music Production for Game Workshops 

BIMM Institute are running two free workshops over half term. The workshops are open to 14 -18 years and will be delivered in two streams: 14 – 15 years and 16 -18 years. You can choose between the two workshops below or join both! Events are free to attend and are delivered over Zoom. 

 Wednesday 17th February 12pm – 2pm: Songwriting Workshop 

The topline melody of any song is key to its success and popularity. In this session, you will explore how to create catchy and memorable music that stays with you! Join industry experts as they pass on some tips and tricks.

From shattering glass, to epic explosions, discover how the sounds are created on your favourite video games. 

Experts will show you how sounds are recorded, mixed, and edited to create some of the game industry’s most iconic sounds. See the sounds created, added to real game footage and pick up some tips and tricks so you can try it at home.
